Located in Guspini, the Church of Santa Maria boasts origins dating back to the 13th century. An intriguing detail of its history is the presence of the 'Maltese cross' on the side portal, which has led scholars to speculate that the building belonged to the Knights of the Order of Malta. The façade, preserved in its original form, offers a remarkable example of Sardinian medieval architecture.
