From 21 September to 13 October, Italy dresses itself in history with the second edition of 'Italia Romanica'. This extraordinary event offers the opportunity to explore the wonders of Romanesque architecture through free guided tours of churches, abbeys and monasteries across the country.
Conceived by Fondazione Sardegna Isola del Romanico, chaired by Antonello Figus, the initiative expands this year to include new regions. The network of participating municipalities in Sardinia has grown from 88 to 91.

In addition, this year the Fondazione Sardegna Isola del Romanico will present The Light of Romanesque: On 22 September, candlelight night visits to several churches, including Oschiri, Tratalias, Quartu Sant'Elena, Villamassargia and Santa Giusta.
Italia Romanica offers an immersive journey through the history, architecture, art and spirituality of the Romanesque period. Accompanied by expert guides and students, visitors can fully appreciate the richness of this historical and architectural heritage.
