Chiesa di San Leonardo De Siete Fuentes
Chiesa di San Leonardo De Siete Fuentes
Near the 'seven fountains' stands the church of San Leonardo, evidence of man's millenary tendency to settle near water sources. The presence of this sacred building is historically documented by the 'Condaghe di San Nicola di Trullas', an important monastic register from the 12th-13th centuries. Although the exact date of construction remains uncertain, architectural analysis reveals an interesting temporal stratification. The nave with a semicircular apse dates back to the 12th century, while the square apse with a lancet window dates back to the 13th-14th century. The façade has characteristic decorative elements, including slightly protruding pillars and two portals with round arches, which give the building a harmonious and well-proportioned appearance.
